We're a Kenyan-founded, community-driven organisation that places trained volunteer mentors inside schools for structured, year-long relationships — not one-off talks.
In 2013, a small group of university graduates returned to their old secondary school to give a single career talk. Students kept asking to meet again. That "one more session" became weekly visits, then a timetable, then a curriculum — and eventually GlobaLink Mentors.
What started with 14 students in one Nairobi classroom now runs inside more than 60 schools across four counties, with a full-time team supporting hundreds of volunteer mentors.
14 students, one school, weekly Saturday sessions.
Formalised operations and hired our first programme officers.
Expanded into Kiambu, Machakos and Kajiado counties.
Over 4,800 mentees supported since founding.
A mentor who shows up once won't change much. Ours commit to a full academic year, minimum.
Every mentee is treated as capable first, and in-need second. We build on strengths.
We track attendance, grades and wellbeing so we know what's actually working.
We don't replace schools or parents — we work inside their existing structures.
Mission: to give every student in a partner school access to a trained, consistent mentor who helps them stay in school, build life skills, and plan a realistic path forward.
Vision: a generation of young East Africans who had someone believe in them early enough to believe in themselves.
